walking down the streets in the lower east side, eyes do glow walking through the light across the clear blues sky, the water looks cold you gotta change with the current of time, or get left behind cause there’s no place like you I’d rather go, all of the time   you gotta change, I don’t wanna change   talking is a really great way to know, what we have to say if you’re setting out for money, if your setting out for good, just set out as if you would   you gotta change, I don’t wanna change   yellow and blue are painting the sky, along the western tide hand in hand you are a friend of mine, all of the time   you gotta change, I don’t wanna change change, change, change….

a brown landscape fills the canvas, as the storm slows to a drizzle and with a strong and pungent fall blown air, furious feat climb the swollen leaves we smile for the sun as it shines a wink, and with the neighborhood so calm   hold me steady, hold me steady, it’s a long way to fall   a train leads up north, winding round the track, and the sun shines on our backs flute melodies swallow the rumble of the cities feet, winding round the track, feel the warmth and the glow   hold me steady, hold me steady, it’s a long way to fall, and tomorrows not getting any closer to me   you keep me warm like a sunny summer day you keep me close so I don’t, fall behind you keep me holdin’ steady, you keep me holdin’ steady   hold me steady, hold me steady, it’s a long way to fall, and tomorrows not getting any closer to me, hold me steady, hold me steady, tomorrow’s not getting any closer to me
3.
I can’t see which way I am going, when I look back it’s all a blur time is pulling back the layers, quickly the pages turn   down and out the heart of the city, changing in and out of lanes as I can’t see which way I am going, and then I’ll burn it up and let it all in   I can’t see which way I am going, when I look back it’s all a blur tumbling down and pulling the layers, and I know that it comes with time
4.
Hope Street 04:14
been livin’ out on hope street, where people look away there’s no one to tell you, that you’ve lost your way been hangin’ out on main street, wanna make a new friend there’s lot’s to think about, but it’s hard to say a word   and it’s hard to say a thing when you don’t know who you’re talking to, it’s easy with you and it’s hard to say a thing when you don’t know who you’re talking to, it’s easy with you   make my way to 8th street, numbers do me fine I think that I will stay here, even though nothings going on now here I am off bleeker, there’s lots to think about but it’s hard to say a word, just shy of a crowd   and it’s hard to say a thing when you don’t know who you’re talking to, it’s easy with you and it’s hard to say a thing and if you don’t know who you’re talking to, it’s easy with you

two kids sit equal distance on a wood platform, divided by a center stone forming to a triangle, balancing it’s form a gust of wind whips one child into his place, the other one is falling, straight for the ground nothing saves the child the difference is the weight between, the weight between never lies   the one that falls his name was charles he’s on his back the other’s name has since been changed is now flying through the air following his doom how soon he is to hit the ground he’s on his back sprawled out like a little child, shattered like an ice cycle, ooh the difference is the weight between, the weight between never lies   and he wakes to charles sitting close by with eyes closed, praying he’s not dead charles sings a big hooray, hooray he’s not dead
6.
instead of staring back, look as front as far as eyes can see taking a little trip, across the pale white light the clouds are few just settle under lavender skies, the grass tickles our shy white backs light a fire and kick off our shoes, the laugh ter cupped with wine keeps us warm   it’s hard to hush a city unless you get outside of it the lovely sounds of crickets may make you crazy saturday’s are not far from this, but it’s monday, and I’m dreaming this   somethings will age well with time, give some space, the sediment falls take a flight out to L.A., driving up the California coast just kickin’ at the pebbles and sand, the crowded beach so colorful take a dive into the blue, the undertow is what’s keepin’ it alive   it’s hard to hush a city unless you get outside of it the lovely sounds of crickets may make you crazy saturday’s are not far from this, but it’s monday, and I’m dreaming this
7.
I Got You 03:17
timed without warning, grabbed your coat and went out walking to the east river rocks and water the sun sits back behind your face, glittering in gold march has sprung soon to fly away   I wanna know what you want, there’s nothing I can’t give You got it all right, and I’ve got you, I’ve got you babe, I’ve got you   half lit with the warmth of a photo filter here the shots stormin’ from the window of the train that you ride, glittering in gold fantasy soon to fly away   I wanna know what you want, there’s nothing I can’t give You got it all right, and I’ve got you, I’ve got you babe, I’ve got you   Well I got you, well I got you, well I got you, well I got you
8.
Window 03:29
closes her window, retraces her steps, there’s too much light, in the middle of the night where did I go wrong she thinks, searching for the door, I never wished for this, and I don’t have a clue   then she finds a window, climbs out through the trees, down the cobblestone roads, to the garden   late in the evening, the headlights loom, turn the analogue radio knob, and the windows rolling down runnin’ on empty, shades of sandy scape,  roads are runnin’, straight and infinite   then she finds a door, back from where she came from, to where she believes, forgetting the past   down in the garden, where there is no time, down in the garden, losing track of time
9.
settle in a cozy café with cider and tea, drinking and listening and feeling warm oak and franklin are neighbors of mine, talking and keeping warm   out on the streets, out on the streets   headin’ up harlem’s way to the top of the borough, just simply listenin’ and feeling warm it’s a grand old hall to live in, with green and gold décor, here we are listenin’ and laughing and feeling warm   out on the streets, out on the streets   we’re taking a while, out on the streets we’re taking our time strolling a while, out on the streets   drivin’ out of port authority, looking out of the window, landscapes are shifting from trees and grass, the sun feels warm steel shadows are blowin’ in the wind, weeping willows are still, the water sits placidly it feels so warm   out on the streets, out on the streets   we’re taking a while, out on the streets we’re taking our time we’re strolling a while, out on the streets, out on the streets

14 Bar Blues 02:08
late monday morning on her way back home her eyes met mine but we both had a place to go this is a story ‘bout a love romance part fantasy, said if you want it, get it and go   I love the light right now yerba and my thoughts sittin’ in my corner seat with my warm tea pot pourin’ and sippin’ as the morning insues, it’s here in my Brooklyn chair, that I pass the days   I find the nerve and grab the nearest phone call the operator asking her her prediction punchin’ in the numbers and the phone rings, 1, 2, 3, 4, leave a message   anticipation is a mild way to say and if you hear me on my way back home ooooh yeah, it’s what it’s all about
11.
in the sun riding tails, consider and jump right in making waves, making waves   see the world as the sun sets, gold sands to turn to water, we jump right in making waves, making waves   sunday morning shines bright, over the Williamsburg water, we jump right in making waves, making waves   in the sun as the sun sets, over the Williamsburg water, jump right in making waves, and jump right in making waves, jump right in making waves, making waves
12.
lookin’ out at the fallin’ leaves, maps and miles to the sea, drivin’ long way southern bound got a bag full of tambourines, got a mouth full of lovely scenes, drivin’ long way southern bound   folding rivers on back road highways, sun has just begun to set love is tangling up my heart as I leave this town my friends have been around I am traveling southern bound   watch the sunrise side to side, watch the moon through the sky, drivin’ long way southern bound silence stretches on, silence on and on and on   folding rivers on back road highways, sun has just begun to set love is tangling up my heart as I leave this town my friends have been around I am traveling southern bound, southern bound   silence stretches on, silence on and on and on…

about

Randy Bergida started writing songs for his band's debut album "Walking Down the Streets" in the winter of 2011. The 12-track record is a perfect pace of blues and rock—all with a modern kick, a strong beat, and lyrics that are both offbeat and universal. The Letter Yellow is all about real musicians playing together in a real space making real music.

For "Walking Down the Streets," Randy teams up with talented friends Mike Thies on drums and Abe Pollack on bass, for a Brooklyn made album. It was recorded at The Creamery by Quinn McCarthy, mixed by Joel Hamilton at Studio G Brooklyn and mastered by Steven Barson at Total Sonic.
